Local recommendations
We have been visiting Moraira and El Portet for over 30 years so would love to share with you our favourite places to eat and visit.
Restaurants
- Casa Lili - Asian cuisine & sushi. It's great value any day but they do a set menu Monday - Thursday for €12.95 for four courses and wine. You can book online https://moraira.casa lili.es or by calling +34 965 74 44 58.
- Refugios - Authentic Spanish cuisine including a brilliant paella (closed on Tuesdays). Call to book +34 965 74 47 74.
- La Cena - Mediterranean cuisine by the sea.
- Ifach - beach front restaurant serving Spanish Tapas with spectacular views, perfect for lunch or dinner.
- Manet - a great spot for breakfast or brunch in El Portet. We often go there and then head straight to the beach.
- AOI - lovely Japanese restaurant near Bar Cabana and Algas with seated tepanyaki (closed on Tuesdays). Call +34 638 42 90 46 to book.
- If you don't fancy eating out there is an Aldi, Carrefour, Lidl and Mas y Mas all within a short drive.
Bars
- Algas - a must for beautiful views and cocktails. No booking required but there may be short queues in the summer.
- Saxos - great atmosphere and regular live music. Best times to go are either early 6 - 8pm or late after 11pm.
- El portet beach bar - lovely place for sundowners any time of the year and if you like sardines our family claim they are the best in the world!
- The Yacht Club and Captain Andy's are both lovely bars in Moraira harbour - perfect for pre-dinner drinks.
Activities
- If you'd like to hire a sailing boat we thoroughly recommend Rocio. She provides a very reasonable charter for anything from 2 hours and gets you involved! You can take your own food and drink and visit the best snorkelling spots in Moraira. If you're lucky, you might even see the Mojito Boat man who has a floating bar. Email rociovazquezibanez@gmail.com for enquiries and booking.
- El portet beach offers paddleboarding and kayaks which are alway fun.
- If you are feeling adventurous there is a hike from right outside the villa that takes you to a private beach, Cala Llebeig. Make sure you wear closed shoes and take some water!
